Can you get tax rebates on previous financial years?

In the UK is it possible to get tax rebates on previous financial years. I have had part time jobs on and off for the past three years whilst being a student and have always been on emergency tax. Can i reclaim this (which must total to at least a grand) and if so how do i go about doing it?

You can go back 6 yrs , either contact the inland revenue ,or see a tax account ,the later will charge but will know all the ins and out of claiming what you are entitled to
