Can you get Financial aid to get your GED?

Check where ever she is planning on getting her GED at and see if they offer scholarships. The cost of the entire GED test is now $95. Our community college that offers the classes and you take the test at does offer scholarships to deserving students so they can take the GED test. You have to fill out FAFSA and a few other things.

Like I said ask the school that is offering the test. Another thing is ask work. My husband works for the dreaded WalMart but they reimbursed me for taking the GED test so essentially the test was free for me.

Federal Financial aid obtained through the fafsa is for college only.

Your friend should contact her local literacy council or adult education center for advice.

The GED was $50 when I took it, and I had to come up with the money. With your scores you can apply to get into college or trade school, whatever. The FAFSA will help pay for college, but not GED. There may be some social service/ adult ed program that will help get the GED, just gotta check local sources in a phone book or on the web. Libraries often give free review classes so you might inquire with. them

You can take a Ged class at any local community college if they offer it also you can apply for a fee waiver if you don't have money to pay for that class but that is the only add you can apply for ,
