Can you get financial aid for college if you are middle class?

I'm going to start JC in the fall in California - my Dad's taxable income is ~60K, putting him in the 50-75K bracket - I have no padding for my resume - volunteer work, boy scouts, honor roll, AP, jobs, etc. - my GPA is about 3.0 - 3.5

Am I screwed ? They want so much information I wonder if it's worth even applying for grants /aid
