Can you get a degree just in Communications?

Like I hear a lot of people say they were a major in Communications, and my dad told me if I wanna be an underachiever to major in Communications :p
But when I looked it up on collegeboard.com, they didn't have a degree called "Communications," it was something specific, like Journalism, Rhetoric Comm., etc.

So can you actually get a major in "Communications," or do you have to do something specific?
