I made baked ziti last night and there is just way to much left can I freeze it even though it has already been cooked?

Also can I freeze it in freezer bags? I don't have small Tupperware and I wanted to do it in single serve bags.

yes but it will not hold for more than a week or so.

if you have WAY too much you could make minestrone soup with some of it before freezing it and you can freeze it in zip bags

minestrone

1/2 cup beef base dissolved in 1 qt water
1 8oz can tomato sauce
1/2 lb baked ziti, noodles chopped lightly
1 cup each chopped carrot, chopped onion, cooked baby lima beans, corn,
2cups diced diced beef
1 tbs thyme
1tbs oregano
mix all but ziti and cook until beef is tender. add water as necessary.
when done and ready to server add ziti to hot soup and heat. do not worry about cheese or any other ingredients as it will add to the flavor to the soup.

I freeze baked Ziti, lasagna, etc. all the time. If you don't have plastic containers get the Ziti very cold in the freezer for about 30-45 minutes so it's easier to handle. Cut it into serving size pieces and wrap them in plastic and freeze individually. Then when frozen you can put them in large freezer bags. This way you can take out as many or few pieces as you want at a time.
Either defrost at room temperature or if you are in a hurry you can defrost in microwave at 50% power for about 5 minutes per piece. Then take off plastic wrap and heat at full power until heated through (about 1 1/2 - 2 minutes). Add a little parmesan cheese to the top and your good to go!
