i got a whole cooked turkey for thanksgiving but i had another one. so i want to save this one for christmas but i don't know if i can freeze it or not. please help.

Yes you can although it may be better to butcher it down into portions so it doesn't take up all the room in the freezer.
Take the turkey and freeze in 3 seperate freezer bags.
First Bag - Take the legs, thighs and wings. (dark meats)
Second Bag - Take the turkey and cut it in half. Lay the halves inside each other so it goes flatter (white meats)
Third bag - Anything leftover; bones, fat, skin ( to make gravy or stock in the future)

When you are ready to cook, remove the bone bag (3) and make a stock with the bones and water and poultry seasoning.

You can always do this. There is no rule that you can only have turkey during the holidays. Stock up with turkey now for later in the year since its cheaper and easier to get now than say in February. If the turkey is "dry" from freezing, dip the turkey in the stock and then reheat. Voila! No one will be the wiser. All they will notice is the smell of the turkey.

Sure you can, but I would recommend you have a cooking day and carve up the turkey for different uses, like sandwich meat, stew, casseroles etc. That way, if you are tired after a busy day you have some easy quick meat waiting for you to heat up. I have had the same situation when my Mom gave me leftovers from Xmas last year. She bought it frozen, defrost, cooked it. I added chilled gravy, frozen vegetables and chopped leftovers and divided it into packages. I was eating chicken stew right into spring! I took another plate full of leftovers, chopped it up and mixed in cooked barley and leftover veggies and made uncooked meat pies. I was popping them into the oven for 30 minutes and adding gravy until May!!!
