I need to get my car to the mechanics garage to get it fixed (car won't shift into drive, neutral or reverse...will only shift into 2nd). I'm almost out of gas and need fill it up before I take it in, but I'm afraid that if I turn off the car and try to put it in park, the car won't shift properly to park and then won't start again. I would like to keep the car running while filling the tank, is this dangerous, or is is okay to do?
