the only way to make broth, store bought or homemade, is to cook beef(or chicken or what ever) and seasoning for a long time. so...its been cooked already.
I ask cause i just added a little to a stew i just finished cooking and noticed it was too thick. So I added some more broth from the carton without actually heating the entire stew up again.
