Can You Donate Blood If You've Had Oral Sex?

I am a female, age 16, and my school is having a blood drive next week. I know they're going to ask about my past sexual history and I have had oral sex with a straight male (I know they ask about that because of HIV/AIDS) once about 1 year ago but no sexual activity since. Am I still eligible to donate?

Also, I have a friend (seriously not me haha) that has herpes of the mouth and she wants to know if she's allowed to donate. Her sores and infection is gone but she doesn't know if she's allowed. Thanks again!
 
I'm pretty sure you have to be 17. But as far as the questions they are not about "typical" sexual history, at least for a 16 yr old. They are sex with a prostitute? Sex with a male who has had sex with another male? Things like that as far as them asking you about oral they don't. And it wouldn't disqualify you if they did. Also she is fine as long as she hasn't been on medication (prescribed) within the past year.
 
Hahaha, yeah. You're fine. Stop worrying, if everyone who has given or received oral sex couldn't donate blood, there would be no donors. As for your friend, I'm not sure if she's okay. You might want to be sure about her just in case. You guys are thinking great! It's great to have young kids donating blood! Keep it up and be safe!
