can you do jail time for knowing of someones intent to kill someone?

my boyfriend would always say im gunna kill him or her whenever he got mad. The last time he said that he really did end up killing the guy. It was in the paper that i knew of his intent to kill, but i didnt know of anything he had planned out or anything like that, he just had said that he wanted to kill him and that was all. Can i go to jail for this?
 
it's plainly anger. If he hasnt done murder officially, it wouldnt be against the law, but do keep a close eye on him. Try talking to him and calming him down.
