can you die from carbon monoxide if you're in a car OUTSIDE in a parking lot? (NO...

...BUILDING TO ENCLOSE THE CAR)? ok so imagine: you're in a car outside in a parking lot. not a garage or anything. can the gas escape the car? or can the gas stay in the car WHILE IT'S OUTSIDE and kill you? There are no buildings or anything to enclose the car. Just you, the car, and a parking lot that's OUTSIDE. also, you've taped all of the air vents shut. is it still possible for gases to escape?
