Can you cook beans in the microwave?

I just started a casserole that's supposed to back for six hours. I need it to be done in about 3. Can I microwave my pinto beans so they're cooked in time? How long?

what kinda beans? because you can definetely cook baked beans in the microwave ;]

Put the beans in there with 3 cups of water so it can boil, i'd say 30 - 50 minutes should do the job. We always cook our beans in the microwave and thats usually the time limit. Just be sure to check on them every 10 minutes after half an hour.

yea, sure. You can probably put the whole casserole in there for like 10 min to get it going, and then brown it in the oven at the end.
