can you connect a wireless ps3 headset to a computer, if so, how?

Assuming you are talking about the bluetooth headset branded by Sony for PS3, you might be able to get it working with a bluetooth dongle.

As far as I know, these are 100% normal headsets, it only says PS3 on it so sony can sell them better. They will work with any phone/pda ok, but not all bluetooth dongles for PC will let you pick them up properly.

This is because the default bluetooth software built into windows does not support headsets. You will have to get a dongle that comes with it's own software, and specifies it supports bluetooth headsets (may also be called bluetooth a/v or bluetooth audio).

I know that the dongles supplied with the "bluesoleil" software will work with headsets, as I have tried it myself. I am unsure as to whether you can download and use the bluesoleil driver with any device, possibly not.

P.S. Just to be clear you know, a bluetooth dongle is a device that plugs into your USB port to give your computer bluetooth. The range normally starts at 10m but I have seen them go over 100m. They are roughly the same size as a USB pen for the more expensive ones, and about one quarter of that size for cheaper models.

The reason for the size is that the cheap ones simply work as an antennae, and the computer does the rest. This is fine normally, but it adds extra stress on the CPU, and can cause some things to be not supported. The more expensive ones manage everything themselves, and just give the data to the PC.
