I just bought an iMac and had PC for the last 10 or so years. Finally had enough of the windows problems and the constant updates, fixes, etc...so decided to give mac a try. The mac guy told me when I bought it that I could just transfer files using an external drive. Well...I tried a usb flash drive, but had little luck with that. Then when I went on the apple website it said I could use an ethernet cable to connect the two together. Is this pretty easy to do? Has anyone transferred this way? Can I use the ethernet cord I use for the internet and external modem? Just unhook it from the modem and connect it to the mac since I won't need the internet? It sounds a lot easier to do it this way then using the external hard drive thing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Even comments regarding PC to mac stuff I might/should know. Thanks!!
