I want to tee off my current water supply in my basement so i can install a utility sink. Right now there is a hot and cold water line supplying the washing machine. I want to put a brass Y garden hose fitting onto that then just re-attach the washing machine hose to one side of the Y and put the new hose for the utility sink on the other side. So will this work? I guess my main question is: Are washing machine threads and garden hose threads the same?
Also, I rent so I cannot add any permanent modifications to the existing plumbing.
