Can you cancel a pre-order w/ Nokia USA ?

I'm gonna talk to my credit card company and see if they can do anything....but I cant find this cancellation policy on their website ?

ya you can refuse the shipment and they will refund you but why go through all that? Theres most likely going to be complications as with any big name company. Its much easier to just cancel the pre-order

Huh...they did not with my week old pre-order. Call this number - 1-888-665-4228 and if you don't get a rep to cancel, call back and try another rep.

ya they charge you whenever the order ships not when you place your pre-order. Also thats the number i tried to call and kept getting turned away, guess you just gotta keep trying

I double checked my bank statement, and the charge is not there anymore... it was on there the day I placed the order....

thanks for the number....

I'm trying to cancel an order as well. Been on hold for over 40 minutes waiting to talk to someone... Found a posting somewhere else that suggests talking to a Supervisor and taking it from there. Once I actually get a person on the phone I will try it...

I called like 3X today, and got them to try to cancel my order...

my excuse is that their cancellation policy is not listed anywhere !!! and no can give answer on that....

I was told the only methods were to cancel the card (which really isn't that bad, my bank gives you a new card on the spot) or deny the delivery.
I'm really starting to hate the way nokia does business.

Okay picking up an older thread, but I wanted to update a few things for future reference.

I preordered the Nokia N97 beginning of last month, but unfortunately I don't want it anymore. Today tried to cancel and was told they do not have a capabilities to do so, and their manager said they don't have the system for cancellations. I was told the best way was to either refuse the shipment or dispute the charge on my credit card. I was actually told to dispute the charge! Well the issue is I don't want the phone anymore, so why would I want to dispute a charge? Also I ordered with overnight shipping, so if I refuse the package, I'm out $20.

Well I had to lie this time, but I called back, told them I lost my job and couldn't pay my bills anymore; manager let me explain my "situation" and somehow they cancelled my order.

So the moral of the story: They can cancel orders, but they choose not to and want to make it as hard as possible for customers to do so. That is simply poor business practice. I don't hate Nokia after this, but I certainly know that I should not order from their online store anymore.

So if you want to cancel your order, just tell them you can't afford to pay your bills. We are in a recession after all!

Good grief, you only have to call BrightHand. You don't do it through NokiaUSA at all. BrightHand's number is 1-888-888-9562. You don't need to lie at all.
