can you buy a boost mobile sim card for a boost mobile phone without buying a new phone?

My mom wants to buy a boost mobile SIM card for an old boost mobile phone
I have and she wanted to know if she could go to the boost mobile store
and just buy the SIM card and not a brand new phone with it.
Can you do that ? Cause I don't know, and she wants an answer now.
So, if anyone knows, please help ?
