To Rick, yes I read the WHOLE article, I still don't believe even if it's severance pay or part of a buy out they should get millions if our tax dollar is going to go for a bailout for them. My husband lost his job after 33 years of service and the only thing he got was NOTHING, we even lost our medical insurance and at 55 he had to go and find another job with benefits.

It's disgraceful and it will only add fuel to the fire for those who think they should be allowed to go bankrupt. It's possible they see the writing on the wall and they are getting what they can get before they get shut down.

And the hits just keep on rolling.

Yes, I can. What amazes me is we are all just sitting here watching it. There must be SOMETHING we can do to stop this!

This is a bit stupid but in reality Chrysler is gone either way

If GM gets the buy out they will buy Chrysler..or someone like
Nissan will..whoever

These Fat cats have a lot of Audacity..if we did this we would be biped

If you bother to read the source article - you might find that the bonuses are part of an OLD Agreement!
http://www.freep.com/article/20081113/BUSINESS01/311130002
"Chrysler owes the bonuses under its contracts with about 50 executives, based on a retention incentive plan crafted "early last year" by former German parent DaimlerChrysler, when it was preparing to sell the Chrysler unit."

If the executives see the 'handwriting on the wall' - could you blame them for accepting the money as a severance pay.
