If I wanted to be a lawyer could I have enough free time to spend time with my family and have a fulfilling life that does not revolve around work and working 60 hour weeks?

How busy you are is determined by how many cases you take on, and how complicated those cases are. You could have one case that takes a lot of research, and then another that's pretty cut and dry.

If you're like most of us, then money talks, and you may take on more cases if you'll get more money from them, which is fine, but it can bog you down.

Being successful in law means being at work 24/7. Maybe not at the office, but at home to. Having a life can done if your organized and know your priorities.

All workers are increasing the work days as the years go on and this is a proven statistical fact. Lawyers are only one of many professions and jobs where people are working harder and longer and for less pay than ever before.

Bottom line: do what is in your heart and go for your law job if that is what makes you happy.
