Can you answer this question regarding my Panasonic Camcorder?

I just bought a Panasonic DVD Palmcorder, Model VDR-D310. I took some footage with it, and then, inserted the disc into my CD ROM on my PC. It played using my DVD software, namely Toshiba DVD Player, bu,t cant play it using Windows Media Player, or save it to file.
Perhaps I am missing something, but what?

Any feedback would be appreciated.
