pregnant woman's belly? I have heard that it is possible to know what sex a baby will be just by looking at the shape of a pregnant woman's belly after 7 or 8 months of pregnancy. Supposedly, a "pointed" belly will normally be a boy, whereas a "flatter" belly will normally be a girl (or something like that). Is it actually true?

no. you've got a 50/50 shot of guessing, so some people will always think there are ways to tell other than just waiting to see.

I wish it was true because then I wouldn't be in suspense. But sadly it is an old wives tale.

I was unable to be told what the sex of the baby was at my last ultrasound. My baby had its legs crossed and hands tucked in over the privates, and when the tech tried to coax the baby to move so she could see, the baby would move its hand swat where she was pressing and put the hand back. It was very amazing to watch on screen and that lil baby wouldn't let anyone see what its going to be.

No theres no way to tell those are just all wives tales that make it fun too try and guess. The shape of a pregnant woman's belly is determined by her physical shape, and size of her stomach pre-pregnancy, and how much weight she puts on.
