Can women shave their heads for military basic training if they want to?

Plan on going ole' gi jane is the coast guard....

I think per regs women CAN NOT shave their heads... they can have short hair, but a bald chrome dome... Nope..
 
I'm leaving for Coast Guard basic training in a couple of months. I already keep my hair pretty short, and it requires styling at this length. Since I won't have time to grow enough hair to pull back, and won't have hair products at basic, I'm thinking I might just want to shave it before I go. Is that out of regulation for women's hair styles?? I don't know if burr hair for women is considered "faddish," but I haven't heard anything about a minimum length requirement either.

The object of Basic is to see how little you stand out, not how much. I can guarantee you a Hell-on-Earth experience if you do what you have said.
