we signed up with tiscali broadband 6 months ago on a 12 month contract, right from the start the service has been bad, we are paying for 8meg, but are lucky if we are getting dial up speeds, whenever we check the speed its in kbs instead on mbs.(on our old internet providor we were getting full speed)
2 weeks ago we got a call on our mobile to ask why we are not answering our house phone, turns out that for the past two weeks people have been trying to call us at home but our phone doesnt ring, it cuts the person off and tells them our number is unavailable.
called tiscali to tell them this, they said its not their problem, there is nothing they can do and that we have to contact BT as we get the line rental from them (we signed up for tiscali talk as well, we get calls from tiscali but rent the line from BT), BT did a line test and it came back working 100 per cent, BT told us the problem is with tiscali.
Now, as well as the phone problem, we have been unable to connect to the internet for the last week, it will try to load the page up, then it stops then freezes and cuts us off the internet.
We have called tiscali 10 times about the phone and the internet problems, they told us to clear the cookies in internet explorer! they then told me to contact dell as it is their fault as they didnt set my new computer up properly?!?!? (we have 2 comps and none of them will connect so its not my computer)
called tiscali talk and they told me there is no fault on the line and they will contact us in 48 hours to ask me if there is still a problem, they never called, called back myself and they asked me what the problem was, even though they are supposed to be sorting it out, they again told me there is nothing they can do about the phone problem and to contact BT, explained I already have.
Still cant connect to the internet (i am at a friends house now) yet tiscali keeps saying there is no problem with our internet so they cant do anything, at one point they told me the problem was because i bought a printer so that is messing my internet up!!!!
can we cancel the contract? this, to me, is not service as nobody knows what the problem is and keeps palming me off on other departments etc, still not sorting the problems out. dont know what else to do now.
