Can vigorous exercise cause a late period?

My last period started on January 10th, it is now March 1st and still no period. I have taken 2 at home tests and they both were negative. I am feeling some pregnancy symptoms, but I'm not sure if I'm just psyching myself out. Breast tenderness/soreness, feeling tired more often than usual, and 'hot flashes' even though it is in the dead of winter. Can vigorous exercise cause a late period? I started a new strength training exercise program 3 weeks ago, after pretty much being a couch potato for my whole life. I work out 4 times a week for 1 hour each time and have attempted at a much healthier diet. Is that enough? I'm really confused about what's going on here. I know I should see my doctor and take a blood test, but maybe I'm overworking myself and not eating enough nutrients, which is causing a hormonal imbalance. Any advice here? No rude comments please.
