Can video games teach children to shoot guns?

I am writing a paper about violence in the media (television, movies, video games, and maybe music) and its effects on children, and I read something about a 14 year old shooter who learned to shoot and kill from video games. I was wandering if there have been any studies or if there are any websites (.edu only) that prove this or if it is just a theory.
