can u help me replace my ignition on my 2000 jeep cherokee?

I have a 2000 grand cherokee my ignition won't turn and the key works in the door i need help to replace the ignition
 
you have turn it one click small hole on housing ,need a small screw driver force into hole pull out ignition is simple,happy holidays

The ignition is tough to replace. you need to remove the airbag and then the steering wheel and the turn signal mechanism all while making sure you don't lose any screws down the column and then you have to put it all back together. A lock smith won't do anything if the ignition cylinder won't turn. BUT, how far are the wheels turned? or are they straight. If they are turned, the steering wheel lock may be stuck, turn the wheels further in the direction they are turn while at the same time turning the ignition.
 
Sometimes you can get them to release by putting the key in and gently trying to turn it whilst rocking the steering wheel. I have had this problem but only intermittantly on a cherokee
 
Have you been having trouble in the past or just this time? Are the wheels turned? Try turning and golding the wheels in the direction they are turned. Have you had any linkage issues in the past? Does it need adjusted?
