can u delete music on the fly with ipod ?

I haven't messed around TOO much with my iPod, I have a 3rd Generation iPod and I can't delete songs off my iPod. I just link up with a playlist and keep it current in iTunes and anything i delete off of it, will be deleted off the iPod, but I don't believe you can delete off the iPod on the fly...

can't delete on the fly .. you have to select the song in iTunes and click the delete button.

Here's what I do if I find a song I want to delete on the iPod. Since I do not use the rating system really at all, what I do is just give those songs I want to delete a rating...and then once I get back to my computer and hook up the iPod, those songs will be shown thru iTunes. Sort your iPod playlist in the "Ratings" column, and there you go...all of the songs you wanted to delete earlier.
