can the Panasonic Lumix g1 record videos?

i'm really confused. i've looked around in a alot of places and some say it does, some say it doesn't.
Does it have a video recording mode, or hd movie mode??
 
The G1 does not record video, the G2 on the other hand, does!..

Not sure if it's been released or not yet, I don't really pay much attention to these cameras, I really dislike them.
