Can the judge decide our divorce decree?

At the last court hearing the judge increased her maintenance threefold even though I have custody of our two children and she doesn't pay child support. Her last affidavit was full of false allegations like I 'forced' her and abused her. These things weren't mentioned to the forensic psychologist and now she's making up new and harsher allegations. It was a blitzkrieg of character assassination. The fp tilted towards me, mainly because she had abandoned the kids for over 120 days with different beaus, she doesn't have a job as far as I know, I'm much more stable mentally and financially and have been the primary care taker of the kids for the last 20 months while working full time. She doesn't even follow the visitation schedule for the weekdays (should have been 24 so far and she came to see the kids only 7 times in 12 weeks--she sees them every other weekend). The last time the judge mentioned that he has many cases pending and wants us to settle, if not he has a lot of "discretion". Can he actually grant the divorce decree because it seems we won't settle on financial matters and can he decide upon equitable distribution? I'm also concerned that the character assassination has to do more with regaining custody than with current finances!! Thanks for the advice until this nightmare is over with a high conflict ex!
