Can the Intel HD integrated graphics (GMA) on an i5 mobile processor handle

smooth bluray playback? I'm planning to get a new laptop and want to know what's best for me. My budget is around $1200.
I want to get a light-weight notebook (not netbook; I hate netbooks) that is:

-13" to 15" and has a minimum 720p screen resolution
-Must have full-sized keyboard (nothing squished)
-Weight cannot exceed 7lbs (including battery)
-Battery life must be 6+ hours of real-time use on wifi (for document processing/internet browsing/youtube/music/picture-viewing). When watching dvd/bluray quality movies, battery can be less (since I'll only watch a full-length movie while plugged into AC power.
-Hard drive isn't an issue since I already have a solid-state drive
-Software such as Windows 7 / Office suite aren't an issue as I already have them
- I do not need a CD/DVD drive (all my files are on external hard drives and will never need to burn anything). I would prefer a lighter laptop w/o one of these.
-USB 3.0 would be nice but not neccessary
-Bluetooth and Camera's are pointless to me.
-Sound quality must be decent

I want to know if an i5 mobile processor (like the i5 450M), using intel HD integrated graphics, could handle blu-ray output (either to it's screen or to a TV over HDMI) of up to 1080p. If it can, I won't need any dedicated GPU.
I will need 4+ gb DDR3 RAM and will be using a 64-bit OS.
Will it be able to play .mkv/.h264 file of 1080p quality smoothly (30fps+) on both the screen and HDMI output?
Also, any laptop recommendations?
