Can the 360 output at 1080p?

MY HDTV only does 720p. But I visited my parents house, and my dad has a 1080p 57 inch mitsubishi DLP tv. I hooked the 360 up over component and it wouldn't show up on the tv.

My dad's TV doesn't have VGA input, but it does have DVI.
So I was thinking would a VGA--->DVI connector work?

it does but that tv proably doesn't accept 1080p input over component

may work if the DVI input is DVI-I but its probably not

give it a shot, I think the adapter is like 4-5 bucks. Or check various xbox forums, or avs

You looked in the settings blade in the dashboard when using the components and have downloaded all the dashboard updates?

Do you have the HD-DVD for the 360? If not, I wouldnt worry about the whole mess.

I play 1080p using OEM component cables on my Samsung.

just get your dad's TV to accept a 720p/1080i input.

you will probably not notice a difference from an actual 1080p signal
