I'm going to take a motorcycle course and I am wondering if this is even a feasible bike for me to get, if not if you could give some suggestions on what I should get

LOL, I would get something with a bit of more kick. Get the 500R, 650R, or ZZR600.

I recently rode a friends 2008 250R. I'm 5'8" and couldn't imagine a person your height being comfortable but everyone is different.

I worked for a couple of Harley-Davidson dealerships and the rider's course they offered had them on 250cc Buell's. I have test ridden them after service and needless to say, it was quite uncomfortable. I am 6' 4" and 220 lbs. I would recommend 750 or larger being that tall--trust me.

My husband just sold his Ninja 250 and let me tell you that as a 5'4" girl it works great for me. It is a very short bike and any 250 doesn't have much power. It could be a great starter bike for a new rider but after a while I think you will be disappointed in not only the power but the ride height. Save a little more (I'm assuming you want a Kawie due to cost) and get something better. I also have an R6S and a CBR all great bikes and my husband is nearly 6' tall (they are a little tall for him). Just personal notes, we don't care for the riding position of the MV Augusta we have but we both love our Ducati Monster 696. Great position great power, and great feel. May be a little short for you.
