...village? from what I remember, the inhabitants woke one day to find that they had been isolated from the rest of the country by some sort of invisible dome structure set there by aliens. They have to form their own law and order and government systems etc and combat the "invasion". Does this ring a bell with anyone? Would love to read it again but can't recall author or title.
