Can someone tell me about gold fish.?

I have six gold fish in my 55 gallon tank and i change the filter and sometimes the water at least once a month but my tank always have a foul odor. could it be the goldfish or what,
 
you need to get the filter aged for it to work properly. It needs to build up some biological gunk in the filter. you can't keep changing/cleaning the filter and expecting it to work properly.

if the filter keeps getting really garbagey, stop feeding the fish so much.
 
Ammonia makes the water smell. Goldfish are also very dirty fish. The will make your tank smell. Change at least 25% of the water every week. Also, getting another filter would probably help some. HOpe I helped!
