can someone send an iphone from USA to other countries without unlocking(jailbreaking)..

...it ? well....my uncle is gonna send me an iphone from USA....i live in Lebanon..........
some people are saying that it wont work here.....cuz they block or whatever from the apple factory......:S

if he send it to me n i unlock or jailbreak it....will it work in my country....?????
