I am on the sporting clays team for a charity tournament my company sponsored. I have little personal history shooting shotguns, though I participated in another tournament a few months ago. Knowing that my distance accuracy would not be good, the 12 ga over/under gun I borrowed was equipped with two improved cylinder chokes and in spite of them being my first two attempts I hit 31 and 28 targets each in two rounds of 50. My goal is to give myself the best chance to break a target at short range. I can live with recoil (the gun is heavy and it only one weekend of shooting.) The loads I used last time were 2 3/4", 11/8 oz, light target loads with size 7 1/2 shot. Would anyone recommend a different load given my inexperience and situation?
