Can someone help me with my verizon memory card?

i just got the new lg cosmos from verizon and the lady there gave me a memory card also... well the memory card slows my phone way down so i was going to try to delete stuff off of it by going to my card memory..well when i click on card memory it tells me that my memory card is not in the phone. HELP!!
