This Monday I put an offer of $281,000 with a $10,000 deposit in escrow on a foreclosure. The foreclosure asking price was $280,200. I have waited 3 days for a response from the bank. Now, the listing agent for the foreclosure told my realtor there is a new offer on the table of $290,000. He said if I offer $291,000 it's mine to have. Why now will the bank go with a higher offer from me if they didn't take my original yet? This seems fishy.
