I need to do one more problem on my chemistry ws and i got stuck on the last one. the question is : if a piece of cadmium with a mass of 65.6 g and a temperature of 100.0 'C is dropped into 25.0 ml of water at 23.0 'C, what will be the final temperature of both the water and the cadmium?
i got the change in temp for the water to be 80 'C but that doesn't make sense to me since it turns into a vapor at 100. will i need to calculate it till it gets to a 100 so by 77 and then convert it to a vapor, and then finally to 103'C? then what about the cadmium? can someone help me out and work is very appreciated. thanks!
