I'm a little confused.. concerning the hapten-carrier complex for initiating an immune response. I know haptens, on their own, won't produce an immune response..but I thought carriers alone would?

Is this correct?

So if you inject a subject with JUST the carrier protein (say BGG), the subject WILL NOT produce antibodies because B cells do not respond to carriers..or would they?
I thought it would because it is a foreign protein..?

Can someone clear this up for me?? I'd really appreciate any help :-)
