Can someone explain to me how the media and/or Gov't benefits from making people...

...paranoid about H1N1? I'm not disputing that they are hyping it up, but I would like to know more about why they would. I have heard some people say they are doing this so that there is more pressure to pass Obama's healthcare bill, can someone explain that to me please?

I think the govt. is genuinely concerned that we could have a serious epidemic. I'm sure you're aware that the so-called "Spanish" influenza killed more people around the world than WWI, one of the two deadliest wars in history.
For one thing, an epidemic would wreck the fragile economic recovery as people avoid any place where crowds gather -- stores, malls, theaters, etc.
The lesson of Katrina is that the govt. can't wait til the last minute. What if a serious epidemic occurred and we were unprepared?

I just hope that you don't believe anything that lunatics say. You're talking about Looney Tunes people here. Do you remember all those Flu cases being reported on when Bush was in office? How about all those so called "security alerts"? Why didn't the GOP say that about him? The media's job is to report outbreaks and outbreaks on the horizon to the general public. If they didn't report it and the precautions of it, people would be b *tching and whining because they didn't. So which way is it? People can't have it both ways.

To make mass numbers of people get vaccinations that have who knows what other kinds of things in them.

Probably things like lead and mercury in them that will make the American population more dumb and docile.
