Can someone educate me and tell me more about the U.S. airforce? What do they do?

The Air Force is responsible for airspace control (like how the Army is land, the Navy is sea). An Airman loves his job because he gets to do the job he chose, travels around the world doing it, does it for a noble cause (freeing oppressed countries like Iraq, Afghanistan, etc), and gets good pay and benefits for it. You damn sure can't go to Wal-Mart, become a cop/mechanic/pilot/computer tech/cook/EMT/whatever, go to Japan to do it, get paid a couple grand a month with free housing/college/healthcare, take 30 days off per year and still get paid for it, and do your part to bring down Nazi-type regimes like Saddam and others. There's like 80 different jobs they can do. You can be Security Forces (cop), a medic (like an EMT), a firefighter, fix trucks, fix airplanes and helicopters, fly remote-control airplanes, record videos, fix computers, report news, cook food for a couple thousand people every day, build houses, fix toilets, pretty much whatever you want. Whatever your hobby, obsession, skill, or dream is, there's an equivalent in the military somewhere. You serve your country, and it'll serve you, too.
