composition? The characteristics of a good reader/writer are dependent on several factors which involves the consideration that no two people have identical reading/writing approaches. To list all the many characteristics of good readers are impossible, however, a good reader sometimes reads for literary experience, reading to be informed, form an initial understanding and develop an interpretation. Good writing must flow smoothly via sentence fluency, have interesting ideas that correspond to the subject at hand, use correct and appropriate word choice and be well organized throughout. When one is asked of their reading/ writing level, there are deeper concepts behind the question that almost always overlooked or unseen.
Through writing emotions and passions can be released without the scorn that one would feel from the socio-cultural surroundings. Writing to appear as if you know more than you do merely shows the reader that this piece of work-literature- should not in fact be taken to heart because your opinion is unnecessary. For a piece of writing to be considered good quality there are a few aspects that the writing needs to contain. For example, ideas are the heart of the message, the content of the writing, the main theme. The ideas are strong when the message is clear, not garbled. The writer chooses details that are interesting, important, and informative, often the kinds of details the reader would not normally anticipate or predict. Successful writers do not tell readers things they already know; e.g., "It was a sunny day, and the sky was blue, the clouds were fluffy white” They notice what others overlook, seek out the extraordinary, the unusual, the bits and pieces of life that others might not see. Ideas that draw in an audience, which would then increase the capacity at which writing can be considered good represents the passion that that the writer meant to be distributed. Good writing is writing that can relate to audiences of different ages and backgrounds without presenting a biased. Organization is essential in producing a captivating piece of work which shows the reader that this art-composite of words- was not written in one day which should not just merely be glanced over but should be ineptly and thoroughly read as it your own piece of literature.
Furthermore, out of a good writer comes a good reader. A good reader has already or is currently developing their criteria for what makes a text enjoyable or useful. In persuasive writing, careful word choice moves the reader to a new vision of things. When analyzing what makes a good reader it is a matter of opinion and what you value in a literary work. Sentence fluency is the rhythm and flow of the language, the sound of word patterns, the way in which the writing plays to the ear, not just to the eye. Fluent writing has cadence, power, rhythm, and movement. Events proceed logically; information is given to the reader in the right doses at the right times so that the reader never loses interest. Sentences vary in length and style, and are so well crafted that the writer moves through the piece with ease. In these reading situations, readers explore the human condition and consider interplays among events, emotions, and possibilities. It involves considering the text as a whole or in a broad perspective. In reading for literary experience, readers are guided by what and how an author might write in a specific genre and by their expectations of how the text will be organized. They choose to read a variety of materials, recognizing that reading serves many purposes in their lives.
Moreover, being a good writer helps to enhance our understanding towards an author’s purpose and means of relaying information to us. When reading higher level books, though it is difficult to interpret the word meanings, the tougher the book, the greater the increase in the vocabulary build that has already been developing. It’s easy to pick up a book that looks so familiar that it’s engraved in our minds, but the difficult aspect of reading is reading new works that cause our brains to function even when we don’t want it to. New works that enhance the vocabulary we already know, which in turn enhances the vocabulary in which we speak and write.
In conclusion, reading is what you write and writing is what you read, taking in information and relaying it back go hand in hand so when you pick up that book think about how much the author had to put in, in order to get to them final product before judging the cover.
