Can somebody name some good Christian books and films and such resources?

I found Mel Gibson's the Passion fascinating on many levels. Remember it is a film maker's vision. The locale wasn't quite right and a lot of details were not strictly in accordance to the Bible or what we know from history, the actors were not middle eastern enough (especially the one portraying Jesus), but it was very gritty, and gave a feel for what things may have been like. The film also blended in traditional characters from extra-biblical documents (e.g., Veronica).

As far as books go, I would recommend something older, say C. S. Lewis' writings. They speak generally to a large Christian audience. He is well respected across denominations. He doesn't write as a preacher either. He was a college professor.

"One night with the King" (story of Esther) Any of the left behind books or movies. "Evidence that demands a verdict." by Josh McDowell.

Well, Lord of the Rings is kick @ss...but it's not Christian per se.....The Narnia series is alright as well I guess....but I've just seen the movies...but that's just me.

Facing the Giants or Fireproof are both good Christian movies. I just got done reading a book call "I Kissed Dating Goodbye".

If you're looking for fiction books, I would SO recommend Frank Peretti's books "This Present Darkness" and Piercing the Darkness". Although the books tell a story about people, it also shows how the forces of darkness and the heavenly hosts are in constant battle, right over our heads. We just can't see them. Trust me. Awesome!

If you know the bible a little, The Chronicles of Narnia movies are an excellent parallel to the way God is in our lives. But it's not transparent. It's a deep meaning.

And if you're looking for a collection of books, check into the "Left Behind" Series. Also fiction, the follow the lives of these people who were left behind after God's resurrection of the saints, and how they try to survice through the years of tribulation.

Good luck!!
