Imagine you are giving the next lesson to the same class. Your aim is to teach the following set of new double letter sounds:
My answer (pre-plan):
Aims:
• To introduce new double letter sounds (ai, ay, ir, oa)
• Review work done in previous lesson – three letter words
• To practise the TL (Target Language) using a variety of activities
Target Language:
• sail, bail, tray day, boat, coat, girl and twirl
Level: Beginner
Time: 55 minutes
Assumptions:
• The children in the class are familiar with all the phonics and have had practice putting letters together to form three letter words.
Anticipated Problems:
• It is the first time the students have done double letter sounds. They may have problems understanding the concept initially.
Tutor feedback:
In the pre-plan you state that the children don't know any double letter sounds and that this could be a problem. However, they learnt 4 double letter sounds in the previous class.
Okay, the reason why Im confused is because the tutor has said that they have already learnt 4 double letter sounds in the previous class but it does not state anywhere that they have and the lesson is to learn new double letter sounds. Maybe I don't understand the question or it could be something that I have submitted in my answer. Please Help!
