I've never used this stuff to start. Of course it will work but my guess would be its going to catch several small fish much like a nightcrawler will at times. Your best bet would be to find out what the fish feed on where you fish. If they feed on minnows frequently then you want to get the closest match to a minnow that they have and so on. As far as the technique I'd say its pretty much limited to just a simple hook and floater or using them on a jig head. The easiest way would be just a hook and floater. Find the depth the fish are at and cast and wait like you would with live bait, adding a few twitches here and there. if your going for bass Id go with the jig head. Cast it out into any kind of cover you see like rocks, weeds, stumps, docks, etc and twitch it up and down off of the bottom like you would a normal jig. If the fish are sluggish, like they are in many places now with cold weather setting in slow down your retrieve. Do something like a twitch, twitch, twitch, wait 5-10 seconds then repeat. In warm water when the fish are active you should be able to catch a load of fish with a weightless hook also. Throw it out and do a twitch, reel, twitch, reel kind of thing. You wont have to fish slow in these condtions.
