Last week I was in and out of the hospital due to contractions.. I was told bed rest and NO INTERCOURSE! But today I slipped and yeaaa... I was just wondering if that could hurt my baby in anyway... Who knows this from expperience???? I haven't had anymore real big contractions.. I've just been alittle sore.. and worried. BUT, The baby has been moving like CRAZY! She seems ok.. Please just help me out.. I would talk to the doctor about this but I don't go back til next week.

It depends on how far you are along and if the doctor was being over-cautious. I had a situation with a doctor that told me not to have intercourse twice because of marginal placenta preveria and learned this is not typical especially since by the 2nd ultrasound the condition had improved.

In your situation I'm guessing you're not quite full term so maybe you should've listened to be safe instead of sorry.

I am no doctor, but no it won't harm your baby. How far along are you? Sex can bring on preterm labour, so if you have been having contractions the hospital has told you not to have intercourse because it may cause you to have more contractions and go into preterm labour.

Last Saturday night I went into hospital after experience regular contractions all day (my partner and I did have sex that morning and as soon as we got out of bed I started having contractions). Saturday night a midwife told us she believed we were going to give birth before breakfast Sunday morning as my cervix had started dialating. I am now 35 weeks pregnant so not a huge risk but still a lot earlier than expected. She ended up being wrong and after painful contractions and 2 doses of pethidine the contractions subsided over night and now I am home...expecting them to start again any day. But my partner and I are avoiding any sex - even though the doctor didn't tell us to - at least for 2 weeks so I can hit the 37 week mark.

Sorry but if you were told not to have sex then you really shouldn't have. Not trying to be nasty or rude in anyway but you should of listened to your doctor.
