related questions)? I have three male rats, and they ran out of rat food, so I've been looking for other things to give them--so far just a piece of bread soaked in olive oil. i feed them carrots a lot, but we don't have any, and my mom said i could give them one of our corn on the cob. I know they love it, but will they eat it uncooked? is it SAFE uncooked? i know a lot of vegetables and fruits aren't good raw. we also have strawberries but i don't know if i'd be allowed to feed them even one--if you think that is something I should really push, then i'll ask. Please also tell me if you think i should give them more bread, or some other common things we might have (although we don't have other fruits or veggies that are really safe for them, and no, we don't have peas). i know they can eat pasta raw or uncooked, but we don't have whole grain and i know that it is healthier...i don't think we have cheerios or other safe cereals, unless a few golden grahams or frosted flakes aren't too high in sugar. they won't be out of food for long (i think, i hope.....) but my two younger rats aren't growing well (my friends rats, also males, are a month or two, maybe even more older, and are bigger than my younger ones already), one of them being bullied by my biggest at times to where he doesn't seem to be getting enough food--he's been better lately, but is still kind of bony on the spine. I don't want to have them with skimpy amounts of food.
please know rat jibes--they aren't funny or helpful. i'm not going to kill them or feed them poison.
for the first answerer, thanks for telling me about the corn on the cob, and i guess thanks for the extra info, but the avocado thing is wrong--only the skin and core are bad, containing cyanide forming things. the flesh is good and appreciated. but i'm the questioner, so sorry if you disagree.
