Can Parents take underage children for a surprise drug test?

Someone told me that its illegal for your parents to surprise you with a drug test, they have to inform you a week before the actual test.
PLEASE HELP
i mean my friend went into one, and her doctor asked how old she was, and they asked her is her parents had told her about it a few days ago, and they said they cant do it unless the child knows a week before.
Im really curious about this,
And its not me who is getting tested.

Why would it be illegal. Parents are just that and guardians of the minor child. Now, for older teens, it may be more difficult if they're resistant, but tests authorized by parents are lawful.

If you are under 18, they have every right under the law to have a drug test done with no warning - Also with no knowledge if they do a home hair screening etc.
