Yes, technically your mother can see your text messages. This is possible for all phones. Whoever's name the phone is under can see the messages.

My mother goes through & sees how many I send per month, but refuses to look into the conversations (to respect my privacy). The only way you can change this is to have the phone be in your name & change the password (or information) to see the messages.
 
I have very personal conversations with my friends about things that I don't want my parents to know about, and my blackberry is under my mothers name and she pays for it every month with online billing and everytime she pays I'm afraid that she can see my msgs online. Can she see my msgs with the E-Bill?
